Communications service cuts access to Moscow Helsinki Group site

MOSCOW, Feb 8 (PRIME) -- The communications service has restricted access to the website of human rights organization Moscow Helsinki Group in Russia, according to the register to check blocking of pages and resources in the country seen by PRIME late on Tuesday.

Access was restricted to mhg.ru, according to the register.

It is not stated on whose request it was done.

The Moscow City Court liquidated Moscow Helsinki Group, the country’s oldest human rights watchdog, on January 25. The Justice Ministry said the organization held 11 events outside Moscow violating its own charter.
